Why Teams Look for a LeadSquared Alternative

LeadSquared is a serious India-built sales-execution platform with a strong education vertical, and for a large B2C call floor it does a job that cheaper tools do not. The reasons smaller teams look elsewhere are about size and commitment, read off LeadSquared’s own pricing page from India on 27 September 2026:

  • The entry seat is Rs 2,500 a month. Sales Pro is Rs 2,500 per user per month and Sales Super is Rs 5,000. There is no lower tier on the page. Third-party trackers that still list a Lite plan around Rs 1,250 are out of date.
  • Annual billing only. Both plans read “Billed Annually”. For a ten-seat team that is Rs 3,00,000 committed up front on Sales Pro, before GST.
  • Marketing automation is a separate product. It is priced per account rather than per user, at Rs 90,000 and Rs 1,49,000 a year. If the reason you are buying is nurture journeys, that is a second line on the invoice.
  • The add-on layer carries no published price. The seat rates are published; the metered extras that an education or BFSI deployment actually uses are not.

Two things we could not confirm and will not guess at: whether a seat minimum applies, which the pricing page does not state either way, and what telephony costs, which is not on it.

The Alternative: ViveLead

ViveLead is a sales CRM built for Indian SMBs, from Rs 499 per user per month (minimum 3 users), no setup fee, billed monthly or yearly in rupees at the same rate, with a real 3-day trial.

LeadSquared figures read from leadsquared.com/sales-crm-pricing/ and leadsquared.com/pricing/, from India, in INR, on annual billing, on 27 September 2026. That page is served by request IP: the same URL shows USD 40 and USD 60 from outside India, so the region a price was read from matters as much as the date. Verify on their current page.

What the Switch Actually Looks Like

The thing a telesales team feels on day one is not the licence. It is whether the call a rep just made is on the lead without anyone typing it in.

ViveLead mobile lead profile showing Call, WhatsApp, Deal and Note actions, tabs for Lead Details, Timeline, Calls and Follow up, and a timeline carrying a logged call, two WhatsApp messages and a stage change
The lead as a rep sees it on their phone. Call and WhatsApp sit on the record itself, and the timeline below carries the call, the WhatsApp messages and the stage change in the order they happened, none of it typed in by hand.

The rep dials from their own phone, keeping their own number. The call writes itself on to the lead with the recording, duration, direction and outcome. Incoming calls too, not just outgoing. Nothing routes through ViveLead on that path, so there is no per-minute bill at any plan level, and the next follow-up sits on the same screen as the call that prompted it.

Two honest conditions on that. Recording needs a one-time setup on each handset: the phone’s own recorder switched on and the recording folder picked once in the app, after which it runs on its own. And it is Android only, because iOS does not expose the call log to any app. How SIM call tracking works, in detail.

What it does not replace is a dialer. LeadSquared will hand a rep the next number automatically; ViveLead will not. On a list of 200 numbers a day that difference is the whole job, and it is the main reason to stay.

We also published what our own call log says about all this: 14,264 calls, and no best time to call, including the finding that four in five leads get called exactly once.

The Cost Math

Ten seats, year one, before GST. ViveLead’s prices exclude 18 percent GST; LeadSquared’s page does not state whether its figures include it.

CRM only: ViveLead Starter is Rs 59,880 (Rs 499 x 10 x 12), with SIM call tracking included. LeadSquared Sales Pro is Rs 3,00,000 (Rs 2,500 x 10 x 12), committed for the year.

With the official WhatsApp Business API: ViveLead Professional is Rs 1,19,880, with no setup fee. LeadSquared publishes no WhatsApp price, so that line cannot be compared honestly.

If you need marketing automation: add Rs 90,000 a year per account on LeadSquared, taking Sales Pro to Rs 3,90,000. ViveLead has workflow automations on Professional but is not a marketing automation suite, so if journeys are the point, this is a real gap on our side, not a saving.

Meta’s per-message charges are billed by Meta to your own account either way. Telephony and LeadSquared add-on costs are not published, so nothing above includes them.

Who Should Switch, and Who Should Not

Switch to ViveLead if you are a 3 to 30 seat Indian sales or admissions team, you want to be billed monthly in rupees rather than committing a year, your reps work the phone from their own handsets and you want those calls on the lead without a per-minute bill, you need quotations and invoices, or you want PF, ESIC and TDS payroll on the same login.

Stay on LeadSquared if you run a 50-plus rep call floor, your day depends on the auto-dialer handing out the next number, you need lead distribution at that scale, you want marketing automation from the same vendor, or you run an education deployment with application workflows. It is built for that and we are not.

How Switching Works

  1. Export leads, contacts and activities from LeadSquared as CSV.
  2. ViveLead maps and imports the data, free on every plan. How long it takes depends on how much data you have and how complex it is.
  3. Rebuild what does not travel: scoring and automation configuration, marketing journeys and custom workflow logic become ViveLead automations and fields.
  4. Set up SIM call tracking on each Android handset once, then live training on pipeline, calling and HRMS.
  5. Go live, validate a full month, then let the LeadSquared contract lapse. It is annual, so check your renewal date before you start.

LeadSquared Alternative: FAQs

Switching from LeadSquared, answered with what is actually published

Its Sales CRM pricing page publishes Sales Pro at Rs 2,500 per user per month and Sales Super at Rs 5,000, both billed annually, read from India on 27 September 2026. There is no Lite tier on the page. Marketing Automation is a separate product priced per account, at Rs 90,000 and Rs 1,49,000 a year. A seat minimum is not stated either way, and the add-ons carry no published price.
For a 3 to 30 seat Indian telesales or admissions team, ViveLead: Rs 499/user/month against Rs 2,500, billed monthly or yearly at the same rate instead of annually only, with SIM call tracking on the entry plan so a rep’s own-phone calls land on the lead with the recording and no per-minute bill. WhatsApp on Professional at Rs 999. For a 50-plus rep floor that needs dialer depth and a marketing suite, LeadSquared is built for that.
Before GST: ViveLead Starter Rs 59,880, Professional Rs 1,19,880. LeadSquared Sales Pro Rs 3,00,000, Sales Super Rs 6,00,000, committed up front. Add Marketing Automation and Sales Pro becomes Rs 3,90,000. Telephony and add-ons are not published on either LeadSquared page, so they are in neither figure.
Scale and depth on a large call floor. Dialer depth, lead distribution at 50-plus reps, a full marketing automation product from the same vendor, and an education vertical with application workflows. ViveLead targets teams up to about 50 people, has no auto-dialer, and its SIM call tracking is Android only because iOS does not expose the call log to any app.
Yes, on Android, from Starter (Rs 499). The app reads the phone’s own recording folder and attaches the audio to the lead with the duration, direction and outcome. It needs a one-time setup on each handset, the phone’s recorder switched on and the folder picked once in the app, then it runs on its own. No per-minute bill on that path. Cloud calling with a provisioned number is Business (Rs 1,699), billed per minute from a wallet.
Export leads, contacts and activities as CSV. ViveLead handles import, mapping and validation free on every plan, with live training. Scoring and automation configuration, marketing journeys and custom workflow logic do not transfer and must be rebuilt. LeadSquared contracts are annual, so check your renewal date before you start.
