Zoho Alternative for Indian SMBs: ViveLead (2026)
Looking for a Zoho alternative? Zoho CRM Standard is Rs 800/user, Professional Rs 1,400. ViveLead from Rs 499/user with SIM call tracking, WhatsApp and an optional HRMS add-on on one login.

Why Teams Look for a Zoho Alternative
Zoho is a serious company with a serious product, and for a business that wants one vendor for forty things it is hard to beat. The reasons smaller Indian teams look elsewhere are narrower than “Zoho is bad”, and they show up on Zoho’s own pricing page, read in INR on 28 September 2026 on annual billing:
- The entry seat is Rs 800 a month. Standard is Rs 800 per user per month, Professional Rs 1,400, Enterprise Rs 2,400 and Ultimate Rs 2,600. Local taxes are charged on top. The page prices annual billing as a saving of up to 34 percent, so the monthly rates are higher than these.
- HRMS and payroll are different products. Zoho People and Zoho Payroll are separate subscriptions with their own logins and their own bills. Nothing is wrong with that; it is just not one line on one invoice.
- The tier you need is rarely the tier you priced. Teams budget for Standard and then find the thing they came for, in workflow depth or reporting, sits a tier or two up.
- Configuration is a skill. Blueprints, workflow rules and Deluge give you a lot of rope. Plenty of Indian SMBs end up paying a Zoho partner a monthly retainer to hold it, which never appears on the pricing page.
One thing we will not claim: that Zoho is expensive in absolute terms. At Rs 800 a seat it is not, and its free 3-user edition undercuts us outright at the bottom of the market.
The Alternative: ViveLead
ViveLead is a sales CRM built for Indian SMBs, from Rs 499 per user per month (minimum 3 users), no setup fee, billed monthly or yearly in rupees at the same rate, with a 3-day trial.
| Ten seats, same capability | Zoho (as published) | ViveLead |
|---|---|---|
| Entry seat rate | Rs 800/user/mo (Standard) | Rs 499/user/mo (Starter) |
| Next tiers | Rs 1,400 (Professional), Rs 2,400 (Enterprise) | Rs 999 (Professional), Rs 1,699 (Business) |
| Free tier | Yes, 3 users | No, a 3-day trial |
| Billing | Annual rates shown; monthly is higher | Monthly or yearly, same rate either way |
| Year one, ten seats, before tax | Rs 96,000 (Standard), Rs 1,68,000 (Professional) | Rs 59,880 (Starter), Rs 1,19,880 (Professional) |
| Calls from the rep’s own phone | Not a Zoho CRM feature | SIM call tracking from Starter, with the recording, no per-minute bill. Android only |
| Auto-dialer | Via Zoho’s telephony partners | No |
| WhatsApp (official Meta API) | Available, through Zoho’s own channels | Professional (Rs 999), no setup fee |
| PF, ESIC, TDS payroll | Zoho People + Zoho Payroll, separate products | Optional add-on, +Rs 99/user on any plan |
| App ecosystem | 45+ apps, Zoho One, large marketplace | One product. No marketplace |
| Cheaper small-business option | Bigin, from $7/user billed yearly | Starter at Rs 499 is the floor |
Zoho figures read from zoho.com/crm/zohocrm-pricing.html with INR selected and the billing toggle on its default Annually setting, on 28 September 2026. Bigin figures from bigin.com/pricing.html in USD on the same date; that page offers an INR view whose figures are not in its source, so Bigin’s rupee rates are not recorded here. Vendor rates change and are served per region. Verify on their current pages.
What the Switch Actually Looks Like
The licence is not what a sales team feels on day one. What they feel is whether the call a rep just made is on the lead without anyone typing it in.
The rep dials from their own phone, keeping their own number. The call writes itself on to the lead with the recording, duration, direction and outcome, incoming as well as outgoing. Nothing routes through ViveLead on that path, so there is no per-minute bill at any plan level, and the next follow-up sits on the same screen as the call that prompted it.
Two honest conditions. Recording needs a one-time setup on each handset: the phone’s own recorder switched on and the recording folder picked once in the app, after which it runs on its own. And it is Android only, because iOS does not expose the call log to any app. How SIM call tracking works, in detail.
What it does not replace is a dialer. Zoho integrates with telephony providers that will hand a rep the next number automatically; ViveLead will not. On a list of 200 numbers a day that difference is the whole job.
The Cost Math
Ten seats, year one, before tax. ViveLead’s prices exclude 18 percent GST; Zoho states local taxes are charged in addition to its figures.
CRM only: ViveLead Starter is Rs 59,880 (Rs 499 x 10 x 12), with SIM call tracking included. Zoho CRM Standard is Rs 96,000 (Rs 800 x 10 x 12). Zoho Professional, which is where a lot of teams actually land, is Rs 1,68,000 against ViveLead Professional at Rs 1,19,880.
With CRM plus Indian statutory payroll: ViveLead Starter plus the HRMS add-on is Rs 598 per user, so Rs 71,760 for ten seats a year, and the add-on drops to Rs 79 per user on yearly billing. On Zoho that is Zoho CRM plus Zoho People at about Rs 100 per user plus Zoho Payroll from a Rs 1,000 monthly base, which is roughly Rs 10,000 a month for ten people on Standard, or Rs 1,20,000 a year, across three subscriptions.
Where Zoho wins on price: at the very bottom. Zoho’s free edition covers 3 users at nothing, and Bigin starts below our Starter in dollar terms. If you are two people who need a pipeline and nothing else, we are not the cheap answer and should not pretend to be.
Meta’s per-message WhatsApp charges are billed by Meta to your own account either way. Zoho partner retainers, telephony minutes and marketplace extensions are not on anyone’s pricing page and are in none of the figures above.
Outside India
If you are reading this from the Gulf or anywhere else outside India, ViveLead bills in USD: $9, $19 and $29 per user per month on yearly billing, or $12, $24 and $36 monthly, with no Indian GST on the invoice because it is an export of services. Zoho’s pricing page carries its own currency selector including AED, so compare on your own currency rather than on a conversion. The one thing to check on our side is that the HRMS add-on is Indian statutory payroll, PF, ESIC and TDS, so outside India it is not the reason to buy.
Who Should Switch, and Who Should Not
Switch to ViveLead if you are a 3 to 30 seat Indian sales team, your reps work the phone from their own handsets and you want those calls on the lead without a per-minute bill, you want WhatsApp Business on the same screen as the pipeline, you want PF, ESIC and TDS payroll on one login, or you are paying a partner retainer to keep a CRM configured and would rather not.
Stay on Zoho if you want one vendor across sales, support, books, HR and marketing, you are already on Zoho One, you need its marketplace and integration depth, your reporting needs are heavier than a pipeline and a dashboard, you need a free tier for a team of three, or you have the admin capacity to get value from blueprints and Deluge. That breadth is real and we do not have it.
How Switching Works
- Export leads, contacts and deals from Zoho CRM as CSV, and employee records from Zoho People if you use it.
- ViveLead maps and imports the data, free on every plan. How long it takes depends on how much data you have and how complex it is.
- Rebuild what does not travel: blueprints, workflow rules, custom functions and Deluge scripts, and anything built on other Zoho apps, become ViveLead automations and fields.
- Set up SIM call tracking on each Android handset once, then live training on pipeline, calling and HRMS.
- Go live, validate a full month, then let the Zoho subscription lapse. Annual billing runs to a renewal date, so check it before you start.
